Jessica Cox

Jessica is a Research Data Analyst at CORNERS. She recently graduated with her B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2023. During her time in undergrad, she spent two years as a research assistant on a mixed-methods study which investigated the impact of exercise on aging while centering human participants. Passionate about public policy and positive social impact, Jessica has completed legislative and political campaign internships within Illinois local government. As an avid geography lover, she is looking forward to leveraging geospatial concepts within violence prevention and connecting with community partners in the field. During her free time, she loves to cook, exercise, sing, and spend quality time with friends!

Featured Projects

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
